Elicina Cream in Rosacea Treatment - A Biological Approach                                                                                order button

Elicina Cream may be used in the treatment of Rosacea

Rosacea is a potentially progressive neuro-vascular disorder that generally affects the facial skin and eyes. Rosacea blood vessels undergo changes in function and become hyper-responsive to internal and external stimuli. These changes are ultimately responsible for the progression of all Rosacea symptoms.

The most common symptoms include facial redness and inflammation across the flushing zone - usually the nose, cheeks, chin and forehead; visibly dilated blood vessels, facial swelling and burning sensations and inflammatory papules and pustules.

Rosacea develops gradually as mild episodes of facial blushing or flushing which, over time, may lead to a permanently red face. Ocular Rosacea can affect both the eye surface and eyelid. Symptoms can include redness, dry eyes, foreign body sensations, sensitivity of the eye surface, burning sensations and eyelid symptoms such as chalazia, styes, redness, crusting and loss of eyelashes.

Avoid conditions that aggravate redness, such as hot or spicy foods, hot beverages, or alcohol. As the sun is a strong trigger for many sufferers, a good non-irritating sunscreen used daily is very important. For those who react badly to chemical sunscreens, a physical sunscreen may be more suitable. Physical sunscreens rely on the reflective properties of the main ingredients (rather than the ability of some chemicals to absorb the sun's energy). The most common physical sunscreens are based on zinc oxide or titanium dioxide.

How is Rosacea different to Acne Vulgaris ?

As Rosacea is a neurovascular disorder it affects the flushing zone. Rosacea sufferers do not usually experience the blackheads that are seen with acne vulgaris. Also the age of onset and the location of redness is a clue. It is commonly an adult disorder and is generally restricted to the nose, cheeks, chin and forehead. It can coexist with acne vulgaris.

Some sufferers have a significant acne component in their symptoms, so it can be easily confused with acne vulgaris. The papules and pustules of Rosacea tend to be less follicular in origin. Rosacea will probably have an underlying redness that is related to flushing and thus looks different to acne vulgaris. Acne sufferers normally do not have the accompanying redness.

As both conditions are inflammatory, the treatment for Rosacea and acne vulgaris can be somewhat similar but some of the acne vulgaris regimes are too harsh for affected skin and can severely aggravate the condition.

Rosacea treament with Elicina Cream

There is no known cure. The treatment is aimed at the control of redness, inflammation and skin eruptions. ELICINA CREAM (applied to a localized area of the skin) helps to heal skin lesions caused by Rosacea when used as a long-term treatment (5 to 8 weeks or more). Elicina Cream is made of a natural substance that both triggers and accelerates the regeneration of the skin and the replacement of damaged skin tissue AND acts as a natural antibiotic (without creating bacterial resistance as pharmaceutical antibiotics do).

What is ELICINA CREAM?

Elicina Cream is a natural topical cream, gathered by a patented process from the secretions of the Chilean snail Helix Aspersa Müller: the very same secretion this snail uses to quickly regenerate its own shell and skin when damaged.

Elicina Cream's natural ingredients: Allantoin, Collagen, Elastin, Proteins and Vitamins A, C and E, natural Antibiotics and Glycolic Acid (1.6%). The natural antibiotics in Elicina Cream are effective against different types of bacteria commonly found in human skin infections and acne such as: Escherichia Coli, Staphylococcus Aureus, Pseudomona Aeruginosa and Acne Vulgaris.

They destroy the pathogens present on the surface of the skin and in the skin pores and begin to act like a barrier between compromised skin surfaces and the environment. Pathogens such as bacteria and viruses enter the body through breaks in the skin, gaining access to the blood stream and causing an increased immune system reaction.

This activity interrupts the repair and healing process, which interferes with the normal lay down of skin cells. Additionally, we see evidence of erythema (redness) around the affected site, as well as some superficial oedema (swelling) and an excited production and lay down of collagen. By blocking the microbial pathway to the blood stream, Elicina Cream® allows the immune system to heal the damage in an environment similar to that in which a broken bone heals inside the body.

Elicina Cream not only provides the normal ingredients which may be deficient in the skin but also restores the skin renewal process by stimulating the germinal cells, located at the base of the skin, which then migrate to replace the worn-out cells near the skin surface. The result is a healthier appearance of the skin with greater thickness, a normal skin colour and normal skin texture.

Other treatments

Products most commonly used are antifungals (such as metronidazole) or steroids.

Long-term treatment with oral antibiotics such as tetracycline may control skin eruptions. Alternative medications may include oral medications similar to Vitamin A (isotretinoin or Accutane) or oral antifungal medications.

The Vitamin A derivative isotretinoin, (known as Accutane or Roaccutane), has been shown to be effective against severe papopustular Rosacea. It works by inhibiting sebaceous gland function and physically shrinking the glands. It also has potent anti-inflammatory properties. At low doses, Accutane has also been shown to reduce other symptoms such as facial burning and redness. Accutane is a strong drug and even at the low doses found beneficial to this problem, should be used under strict supervision of your doctor. Low dose Accutance may be more suitable than the regular dose, as there are less side effects and less chance of aggravating redness.

Surgery such as the laser elimination of blood vessels may be needed if other treatment is ineffective. Surgical reduction of the nose hyperplasia may improve appearance.

An organic, natural, non-allergenic cream, Elicina Cream does not contain colourings or fragrances; it is non-greasy and has a rapid absorption. It dries the skin, so we recommend you use the moisturiser that works best for you 10-15 minutes after the application of the Elicina Cream.

Elicina Cream can be used by children and on any skin conditions under no risk. It has been proven effective for Scars (Keloids) - Burns - Stretch Marks - Age Spots - Minor Cuts - Wrinkles - Warts, Acne and Rosacea.
